The vines are situated a few hundred meters from Clos Haut Peyraguey.
The soil is typical of Sauternes: a variable proportion of sand, gravel and clay. The wines display an excellent liquor while remaining very fine, with good aromatic expression enhanced by freshness. Still, the musts are not as specifically complex as those of the Clos Haut Peyraguey terroirs.
Let’s say that Château Haut Bommes, which receives the same care throughout the process, is a worthy ‘smaller’ brother to his elder!!! |
